6. Stepping up to HTML 3

HTML 3 was an ambitious effort on the part of Dave Raggett to upgrade the features and utility of HTML. However, it has not been, nor will it be implemented as a standard version -- so there is no point in trying to write HTML 3 documents, as such a beast will never exist. However, several features of HTML 3 are coming into common usage, and will likely be integrated into standard HTML over the next little while.

Some of these new features, such as new attributes to old elements, were discussed throughout the document. However, HTML 3 also proposed new elements which were not described elsewhere. These are discussed here.
